I think it may be true.
Log into your Connect Drive account online, and see if Driving Recorder is available for your car. They match up your car (I'm guessing by VIN and therefore the options your car has) to the features and functionality available which are software and hardware dependent.
I was trolling through my Connected Drive account in early Jan this year, and found Driving Recorder - "Available to purchase for your car". If you cant see Driving Recorder in your CD then two things:
* Either it's not available in your country, or
* You car doesn't have the options (and hardware) to support it.
