Just to clarify, I normally drive in Comfort mode. ECO mode almost gets ride of brake regen and lets you "coast/glide", thus is definitely smoother.
I haven't tried Sport mode but I expect more harsh down-shifts.
Personally, I think it's the "harsh" downshifts (around 2nd -4th gear)that bother me the most.

Try to turn off the auto off feature if you can, when driving in comfort, the auto off(A) will turn on and engine shut off at "stop" (like at red light) which causing the "jerk" stop u mentioned. The breaking is never smooth in my case. I try so hard to avoid it, for example breaking differently or breaking early but never works for me because I still feel the breaking is not smooth. Some of the ppl here mention that car after 2020, the auto off is gone so you might want to code that off (if possible).
Or just use the sport mode……….🤣
I like to ease in at the stop or the red light.
