I spent $90 on this, including a $30 set of clamps and a $30 set of forstner bits. My son LOVES it; for the first time in over a week he laid down and took a nap in it (he is still sleeping while I'm writing this up). Unsure on how we want to finish it, wife kind of wants to paint it, I kind of want to stain it, but we also might just leave it raw. This was also my first time using a pocket hole jig (supplied by my father who hates using it). I think it turned out pretty darn good.
Looks great. I would suggest painting it though. It will get dirty very quickly and be hard to clean if left raw. As for stain, that's not a great option either simply because it looks like you used spruce and spruce does not take stain evenly. It often comes out very blotchy and really doesn't look good. The proper gloss paint will look good and be easy to clean. My 2 cents.
