Need a new dealer - Recommendations?

Not for drugs, I feel like I have that one locked up…just kidding. To set the table, I’ve been in consulting for 15 years of my career, so I hope by now that I understand what client service looks like as well as how not to be an unreasonable buyer. But I digress.

TLDR; bought a bunch of cars from the same dealer, they suck now, and need a new salesperson and your recommendations

Longer version of my story is that I’ve been buying my BMWs at the same dealer for the past 15 years and during that time I, and my immediate family, have purchased roughly a dozen BMWs (I lost count). Not to mention the countless others I had referred to the dealer. Early on I worked with one of the best salesmen I’ve had the pleasure of working with. He was retired and took the job as a “hobby” because he genuinely loved interacting with people – but good for him, he finally retired for a second time to spend time with his family and grandchildren. Since then I’ve worked with one other salesperson at that dealer.

Like all car dealers they’ve had their mis-steps which I had forgiven in the past on both the sales and especially on the service sides of the house, but I’ve finally had enough and the summation of these mis-steps over time has reduced my loyalty to zero. Maybe I’m stupid for having any loyalty to a car dealer, but in my career we build relationships with people by delivering quality services and gain their trust, perhaps that doesn’t apply to BMW – or any - dealers any more.

After the last straw, and in my initial period of discontent, I almost committed to never buying a BMW again. But as I took the time and thought about it, it wasn’t that I no longer loved the cars, it was that I no longer enjoyed the experience of buying them at that particular dealership. Admittedly, we are all fortunate and not everyone can afford these cars, and since we all work hard for the money that buys them I feel the experience should be enjoyable and not one that we dread every time we go to the dealer.

Hence why I’m reaching out to get the combined infinite wisdom of those on this board. Recommendations on a dealer you’ve worked with over time that values a relationship with a customer would be appreciated. I’d like to not only enjoy the cars themselves, but also the buying experience. Let’s face it, service is always going to suck 😊
