I have been using an older Vgate WiFi adapter for a while on my F80 M3. It was noticeably slower on the X7, but I don't know if the latency was due to my WiFi adapter's age or if the G-Series cars are just more processor intensive for any WiFi adapter. I recently purchased the Ethernet to Lightning adapter (for iOS) to use with my ENET cable. I am not sure if Android has a similar adapter, but I think one is available. It is VERY fast (as you would expect for a wired connection) and is my connection of choice for now.
