I'm chasing some extra horse-power, and apart from the TDI box, the other option I'm considering is trading to a 40i petrol model. There's some anecdotal talk around the forums (and even some dealers..) that that petrol models might hold their value better in the longer term because Diesel is becoming less popular.
After hearing 20mpg, and 12mpg in Sports+ for the 40i, I'm not so sure - is the 40i really that thirsty?
The more I learn, the more I'm convinced the 30d is the right choice for the long term.
