Most of my BMWs have had very light leather interiors and the one thing I am EXTRA careful about is my belts ... and I NEVER wear a leather jacket while driving.

I had an E92 with Cream Beige (almost white) Dakota leather and my belt (or maybe the bottom of my leather jacket) burnished the leather where my lower back hit. I had to have it redyed because nothing would remove the blackish burnished leather marks. I haven't had any problems keeping light leather showroom clean since I started watching my "leather on leather" action.
