I don't know much but I remember reading this on the e-tron. My guess is its the same magic.
"The automaker added 18 miles of range, for a total of 222 miles (and 218 miles for the Sportback model) by allocating more of the battery pack for daily use."
Basically, Audi removed some of the safe zone as the batteries don't (may ruin them) like being dropped to 0.
