The latest US brochures (which are actually, FINALLY, a real – full product catalogue) do show a “Leather Dash” option to be ordered. And though it doesn’t appear to be available for the xDrive35i, it does show as an option to be ordered against the 50i.
So I’m thinking you might actually be able to order the Leather Dash option for your ’08 xDrive50i… And after staring at Palbay’s pictures, I think you’ll want to at least ask about it.

Nope. No leather dash or extended leather dash option available for the '08 model. I asked and probably would have ordered it but not available. Probably available on the '09 model which will be out 4-5 months later.
