After reading a bunch of the comments, the hood seems to be the culprit. I get the whole PPF route, but to have chips at this rate and depth...come on. It’s a BMW thing. My last ‘17 M3 was chip city, but my 2015 F150...nothing. I’ve hit the sides of that truck with just about everything, ride behind dump trucks, and generally disregard protecting the vehicle. No chipping or dings. Same thing goes for the windshield, however, the M3 never had windshield chipping issues.

It’s all cosmetic, and I love my X5, but these minor issues go into consideration with next purchase.
