He didn't highlight what I feel is the biggest issue - the looks. It very much divides opinion, with few, it seems, ambivalent. While it looks better in person somehow, I'm definitely not a fan.

I love his reviews. Very fair IMO. I do wholeheartedly agree with the rear 'vents'. Why are they not functional? They need to be there to break up the empty space—just make them functional! Can't be that hard, can it? |
It's all about the aerodynamics and drag. The car has to be wider there for the air to swirl a certain way behind it and if there were "real" openings it would behave differently. They're not there for looks.
"Real" is not always what we expect it to be. These vent looking features have their own purpose and are real in this regard...looks have nothing to do with it.
