I've not driven the current gen Cayenne. I do also have a 2020 X6 M50i for another few months, so it's an interesting side-by-side comparison. I initially was going to get another M50i, but BMW de-contented the X6 for 2021, so you can no longer get things like soft-close doors, the heated/cooled cupholders, or full merino leather unless you step up to the "true" ///M. Not that I needed a lot of encouragement, to be fair.
I did drive the X5 45e recently, because I was considering that as my daily. I was hoping to use it in "EV only" mode for my commute (20 miles), but I thought the vehicle was hugely underwhelming in EV-only mode. Left in hybrid mode, though, I thought it was great and would make sense over the 40i. I'm not sure how the Cayenne works in terms of EV-only range or driving feel.
