I *knew* my next car (after this one) would be at least mild-hybrid, but it came quite a bit quicker than I expected.

It has 65bhp more, not hundreds. The torque number is more important anyway.
But again, considering some EU markets have announced pricing for the 40d and its around €8k more, I just don't see how the price difference in the uk will be less than a third of that.
Like I said, £6k more sounds about right and in line with other BMW engine jumps. Plus at that price it creates a market for all 3 diesel models.
