Took it for a quick spin solo this evening. Don't expect the same driving experience as the X3. In full Sport mode there is plenty of power, but little to zero steering feel and absolutely no sound from the motor. I think if you want a similar experience you will have to wait for the X5 M50i release. This is still the right car for my wife, but the X3 is way more fun to drive. Will be interested to see what the M50i drives like...
Which one do you have, 40i? I have a feeling the 50i with DHP which is what I'm getting will give a similar feel as my X3 M40i but less harsh. I see no reason why the 4.4L TT V8 would move the X5 a bit quicker despite having the same 0-60 times. When you add in the DHP which has anti roll bars which are electronically controlled I think it'll handle the same if not a tiny bit better. We shall see in the next month.
