the goal of ppf is mainly to protect from minor rock chips. a byproduct of this protection is the preservation of the paint surface underneath. removal is fairly easy, requiring a hot gun to soften the adhesive.

it may not increase the resale value in the future (or it might if sold privately).

the investment is one's personal choice. do you care what the paint condition is like when you're done with it? if not, don't get it. do you want it to look as good as new for your duration of ownership? if so, get it.

for me, it was transformative with a side dish of protection. I plan to keep it for a while.
