Please go back and re-read what I wrote regarding your ability to check engine codes. Yes you can erase them, the drawback being that the BT software is not current to your car.
Not sure what you mean be "not erasing codes from inside the car with Terry's kit?" Are you speaking of the CAN tool or BT diagnostic cable that you connect to your lap top.
