Now that I have seen for the last 7 years my dog COWER in fear, and being unable to do anything to soothe her, or explain there is no real threat to her well-being, I've changed. And the irony of it all is that 4th is her birthday.

Mortars become fun when you take 4 tubes and screw them into a piece of plywood, now do that 2 more times. Zip tie 4 mortar fuses at the tip, enlist two buddies to run the other two boards and launch 12 mortars at the time. Rinse and repeat all through the show. It's awesome!
