I was able to download it in the app on the phone, then sync the phone via carplay to push the update. It hung a few times, but holding down the volume button to reset iDrive seemed to get it to push through without too much trouble. Then I needed to use bimmercode again to get my preferred preferences back (like auto off not activated).
