I've driven both, they're both nice. I came from a 2018 X5 50i (before they started calling it the M50i) and wanted more out of an suv. The ride is firm and you feel like there's never a delay in power. As soon as you hit the pedal, the car moves. The M50i has a delay in throttle response and just doesn't feel as nimble.
I will say though, the random noises the M makes because of the stiffness can get pretty annoying. You'll hear a knock or some rattle from the doors on bumps and bad roads (most of NYC has bad roads).
