From the reports it seems that the Cayman S is an excellent track car. But I really don't like the car much. The exterior styling will take a while for me to get used to, but most importantly the interior felt a bit cramped. I fit fine in both the 986 and 987 Boxster (though the 987 is even more roomy). Both the 996 and 997 911 are VERY roomy considering the overall dimensions.

However, the Cayman felt like a smaller version of the Audi TT. I still had an inch or so of headroom, but the top of the window was at eye level. The roof has a bit of a bulge to allow more headroom, but this results in my head actually extending higher than the side window.

So in the end, I would choose a used 911 over a new Cayman.
