We bought a Dyson Animal V8 a few years ago. Our house is about 1200 sq. ft. hardwood with a few area rugs. The thing is brilliant. I hated dragging our old canister vacuum around and always having to plug it in someplace else because the cord was always just a bit too short. I don't mind vacuuming now it's so much easier. The thing will do the whole house on a charge plus our furniture. It's handy for taking outside to do the cars as well.
