Hi! Changing the oil in the BMW X5 engine should be carried out on a warmed-up engine (this contributes to a faster and better flow of lubricant). It will also flow out faster if the dipstick is first lifted and the filler cap is unscrewed. To change the lubricant, the bottom of the car must be viewable. To replace the filter, the car must be on the ground (so that the engine compartment is fully accessible). First you need to unscrew the filter cover using the proper wrench (usually a 32-bit head). Then remove the cover, and with it the filter. Before these steps, substitute a container so that the old oil does not stain the engine compartment. This is followed by the removal of the old filter and the replacement of the gum (which it is desirable to lubricate with oil) Next, a new cartridge is installed, after which the lid is tightly screwed on. You can unscrew the drain plug with a 17 wrench. Do not forget to substitute a special container before that, where the oil will flow. Unscrew the plugs. Note that the plug has an O-ring. If it deforms during tightening, it should be replaced. After completely removing the oil from the car engine, you need to tighten the plug. Once you have verified that both the drain plug and the filter are securely tightened, you can start filling with new grease.
