The problem with RaceRoom is the tracks are horribly rendered. Laguna Seca and Sonoma are nowhere near to proper scale. I heard good things about Raceroom and quickly paid for the local Bay Area tracks and was sorely disappointed in how fake they were. If you use those tracks to practice for the real thing, you'll be in for a big surprise when you get there.

Not sure how you can say Assetto Corsa is not fun. I can lap tracks solo for hours and have almost as much fun as if I'm at the real track. In fact, I have a 125cc Rotax Max go-kart that I bought last year to help with my driving, but I find AC far more effective and enjoyable than taking my kart out to the track.
