The onboard X5 nav is orders of magnitude better than my previous Q7. Mine has already updated itself three times; in the Audi you had to download an update via SD card and install it. The Audi understood voice directions about 50% of the time, if that, and frequently wasn't available for several minutes after you started the car. The Audi did have one endearing quality - since it never, ever understood "find the next rest stop," I tried "I have to pee" and it worked every time. It was never a good relationship, and I think it routed me the longest way every time it could. I thought I heard it snicker a couple of times.
