Are you completely certain that the 45mm lugs didn't "bottom out" against the back of the hub thread hole? I don't know how much depth margin there is on the hub thread holes and there is a very decent chance that both 40mm and 45mm are fine for 15mm spacers on factory wheels, but 45mm do run a (likely slight) risk of being just a little too long.
Assuming that my caution above is unfounded, you will still have to keep track of front vs rear bolts now since 45mm bolts on 12mm spacers would definitely not be ok. In hindsight, it probably would have been simpler to stay at 40mm bolts all around for the 12/15mm spacer configuration as highlighted multiple times on this thread … but it's not that big a deal either. |
I'm running 12/15mm spacers with 40/45mm bolts respectively from Dinan on my X7. No issues with the 45mm bolts on 15mm spacers configuration.
