To answer your question, I had 3 X5s; 2001 4.4i, 2005 4.4i, 2008 4.8i and I'm on my 4th X6. The looks initially got me way back when and it was like a cross between an X5 and a 6er. My first was the 2010 50i and it was a beast, and handled so much different than my X5.
I like that it is different and there aren't so many out there but that new ass......
EDIT - I see from your other thread you also looked at the GLE Coupe. Did you drive it? It definitely catches my eye but I haven't driven it. If it's soft, cushy, and loose I'll stick with the ugly ass on the X6.
