How did this all work out? Have you towed with it yet and confirmed this wire is activating the brakes? Where did you install the controller? I am considering putting it in the center console next to phone charger; do you think it will fit under the lid?

OK here's an update. I finally got the connector in today and got the cable put together.. it works perfect! I ended up ordering the connector from my local Porsche dealer for about $3 with shipping. The plugs I bought from getbmwparts.com and they were about $25 for 5 of them.

The controller itself is a Prodigy P2 I got for $40 on offerup.

I also ordered a 25' trailer wire cable, Reese controller plug and braided sleeve from Amazon.

All in I spent about $100 for this which is much better than the $240 or whatever BMW charges
