car play doesn't matter since apple is in the minority for phone usage globally. Android Auto would be better, even so I'd rather just use idrive 90% of the time. Some CP issues are on Apples end, others fall to BMW |
I am clearly not going to advocate wasting any time on CarPlay, mine is off permanently never to be touched ever again on both the X5 and the iPhone, but ... while Android is dominant in global numbers, Bimmers are upscale and correlate very highly with iPhone usage. I would be surprised if less than 80% of BMW drivers are iPhones, but there is probably no way for us mere mortals to check on that assertion.
