Drive train error every other day.

In that case depending on how long you keep the car, a 40i may give you peace of mind for long-term ownership due to less complexity under the hood, of course you can always get a lemon regardless of car, but hopefully they have improved the hybrid system and either way you go you have some good luck.
Porsche's E-Hybrid technology in the Cayenne seems pretty good, but not as efficient, could also be an interesting choice.
