I am having the same problem, every time I pop the hood it takes me a few goes to actually close it properly.
It seems to catch but not all the way home.
I have tried slamming it, pushing on it when its half closed etc.
Never found it difficult to close one before so Im glad Im not alone - I thought I was doing something wrong!!!!

You really have to pull down on the two anchor points under the hood with a great deal of force for the hood to latch fully. Even put a bit of body weight on the hood at the latch locations.
