Finally got around to reading this. It literally felt like you were talking to me in stern dad you-need-to-listen-to-this-because-it's-clearly-beneficial tones. I actually flagged it, I could really appreciate the simplicity of the perspective. I definitely saw those roles are more of a consulting "customer service" oriented position to provide alternatives and solutions. Salesforce's mantra also came to mind.
BTW, sushi meeting is pushed back until tomorrow. He had a client meeting move a dinner date up on him, go figure.
