G05 X5 Issue - need some help
2020 G05 X5 M5.0. I swapped my summer rubber for my winter rubber on the stock 22" rims (ya ya, I know). The vehicle runs perfectly on the summers. I put on the winters and under acceleration from stand still it fells like the drivetrain is chugging (not sure how else to explain it). It is definitely coming from the back. The steering wheel is not vibrating at all.
I put someone else's identical summer rubber on (same rims and tires) and all is good again. So now I know it is not the vehicle or drivetrain. It has to be wheels or tires. The issue does not appear first thing in the morning when I drive it. But the more I drive, the worse it gets. We checked all 4 rims and all are perfectly straight. All 4 rims on the Hunter Roadforce are reading 0.00. It appears that nothing is wrong. I drove a couple hundred km to see if maybe they were stored poorly and were slightly out of round. Nope. Any ideas before I pay stupid money for 4 new winter tires (ya ya, I know, downsize to 20", etc etc). |
