Joseph Gayetty, inventor of the modern toilet paper in 1857. Although first examples were not that comfortable but in common use until the invention of splinter-free toilet paper in 1935 by the Northern Tissue Company.

New! Improved!! Now splinter-free!!! LOL
As an aside, my Dad was a research chemist and spent most of his time in detergents & phosphates. So his answer for me to "what do you do at work?" was "You know how the commercials always say that Tide or Crest are 'new and improved'? - That's what I do." Good times. |

There are estimated to be over 10,000 varieties of tomatoes worldwide! They come in a vast range of colors, shapes, and sizes, from tiny cherry tomatoes to large beefsteak types. Tomatoes are often grouped by type (e.g., heirloom, hybrid) or by how they grow (e.g., determinate or indeterminate), and there are several categories based on their usage too, like slicing, cherry, plum, and paste tomatoes. Each variety offers unique flavors, colors, and textures.

Russia did not officially consider beer an alcoholic beverage until after 2011. Before that, beer with an alcohol content of up to 10% was classified as a “soft drink,” meaning it could be sold in places where stronger alcoholic beverages could not be sold, such as schools and public transportation. The change came as part of a wider effort to curb alcohol consumption in the country. In 2011, the Russian government amended its laws to classify beer as an alcoholic beverage, subjecting it to stricter regulations and limitations similar to other alcoholic drinks, including restrictions on advertising, sale hours, and sales to minors . This change was part of broader health initiatives aimed at reducing alcohol-related harm in the country. The shift in classification helped bring Russia in line with international norms concerning alcohol regulation and was part of a series of public health reforms introduced to combat widespread alcohol abuse in the country . |
