Brake Dust

My F80 M3 makes more brake dust than any car I own or have owned. My Cayman doesn't compare nor did my previous E92 or my Z4M. Seems like I clean the wheels every other day. And the dust is very hard to remove. Anybody know if we have an unusual compound for performance? Anybody have a recommendation of low dust pads?

Thanks.

Personally I like the brake dust. Makes my silver competitions wheels look like the black ones that’s I wanted, and it doesn’t cost me a dime.

I use Power Stop Evolution pads (Z23) front and rear. Practically no dust.

Driving around town, store here and there beside spirit driving I rarely use my brake. I use my downshift to really show the car down to the last few feet of the stop. This has helped me a lot regarding the brake dust. I get more dirt and dust than anything.

How's the fitment. Any noise from using these pads.

Ceramic retro kit

Problem solved

In the interim while you sum up the courage to slap 11k on your credit card, use a wheel cleaner with an iron remover in it for maintenance cleaning - most will allow you to spray and hose off 90% of the dust

The only noise I've experienced is when first backing out in the morning. Mostly on damp days. Otherwise nice and quiet.

Armor All Oulast Brake Dust Repellent is my best friend lol! Just washed and waxed and applied this to my wheels. It really works. Best thing to do is to clean and dry your wheels thoroughly. Then spray this stuff on and let it dry on the wheels, preferably overnight. My wheels stay much cleaner now!!

I have been using that stuff for years and it does work great. But eventually the dust catches up. I'm thinking about trying one of these low dust pad options.

Whatever wheels you have getting them ceramic coated helps a lot. I have to actually wipe them after a few days and a good pressure wash will make them look brand new. A shop should do all 4 for around $300-$350.

How are these in the rain and winter? Initial bite similar to OEM or longer pedal feel?

I head south for the winter, so no real cold weather experience. Rain hasn't been an issue. Similar bite to OEM.

Where did you end up buying these from... link?
One last stupid question; are there two separate part numbers for both front and rear?

Autoanything, Rockauto, Amazon, etc.. Check Powerstop.com to get the correct part number. I have an E90 w/ M Performance Kit which are 370mm and aluminum hat which calls out a different part number.

What is the original pad material for these brakes?? It's awful! I'm on my second day with this setup and my wheels are covered in brake dust.

Separate part numbers for front and rear. You may also want to order the wear sensors. You can probably reuse the existing ones, but they're pretty inexpensive.

I got mine from rock auto. Sorry I suck at links. Posted one below if it works. Pretty easy to navigate to though.
www.rockauto.com

For iron rotors.
Rears part number Z231656
Fronts Z231609B

They also show Z26 pads. They are more expensive (still cheap). They are listed as improved stopping power.
