Splitters, Skirts and Spoilers - thoughts?
Does anybody have any experience with a company called Maxton Design? I found them last night, when I was looking for roof spoiler options. The pricing seems almost too good to be true, but may be worth rolling the dice on, if the quality is there.
Check out what they have for the G05: Maxton Design - BMW X5 G05

Yeah, I figure for the price, it may be worth risking the buy.

Few members here have purchased these items and have posted pic. I also have placed an order in Gloss Black before Covid-19 which has not arrived yet for obvious reasons. Members who have received their orders have very positive views of the quality of the product but some have suggested that even though the product come with mounting accessories one might need to purchase some extra nuts, bolts, screws and heavy duty double sided tapes. Also, according to them there is very little space for installation. Hopefully one of them will see this post and shade light on their experience.
I guess all i needed to find what's below. https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1713241 Last edited by Habsone; 06-04-2020 at 03:59 PM.. |

I have rear front and sides. Skipped roof spoiler, not my style.
Figment is very close to perfect, you have to get other screws and some tape to install it. Whatever they provide sucks. |

I installed the front lip recently. Shipment was very fast from the UK to Australia. It only took a few days in the middle of lockdown which was very impressive.
I used the included hardware and supplemented with additional 3M tape. Mounting the nuts on the screws inside the bumper is tricky but can be done with a bit of patience. Some parts of the bumper have more space than others. All in all I'd rate the fitment as 8/10, but love the look. Matches the extended shadowline trim nicely. |

Damn guys! Thanks for chiming in. Great addition for what seems like a reasonable deal. Looks like shipping is the only real downside on these parts.
I'm still trying to find any more pics of the rear roof spoiler. Anybody?

In the pictures on the site the front lip seems to stick out of the front quite a bit creating that snowplow look that I'm not a fan of.
Do you all find that to be true and could that be adjusted by positioning if differently or would the ends not allow that? Any profile pics of the front spoiler would be appreciated! |
