Hate? Hate's a strong word, I don't think I absolutely hate anything about this car quite honestly. After about a year of ownership on my CS I think my only complaint was the rear deck rattle from when the stereo is higher volume but that can be fixed along with the window trim squeak which are both well known small issues which are easily taken care of.

If I had to genuinely hate one thing, it’s the overly intrusive traction control. Luckily it’s fixed with stiffer shocks, but definitely would be the 1 thing I’d like to change if I could.

Brand new 2020 late model year M4 with CCBs, the works, etc.
The car's interior rattles enough to annoy you in daily driving. The leather seems unnecessarily fragile (1000 miles in and already have a nick on the front of the drivers seat pad, though could be from the dealer since I never wear jeans or anything with zippers/rivets). The feel and look is fantastic, but the leather is very thin. The comp pack suspension is pretty harsh in comfort mode. Dynamic adjustments don't seem to do much with this car. This is somehow a controversial thing to post on this forum. I get it, your track car Elise is rougher and the M3/M4 is like a pillow, but if you drive in the city or anywhere with subpar roads, anyone who rides in the car will comment on the harshness of the ride (for a non-supercar). As the driver you will likely not mind, but this can get grating as a passenger. Other than those relatively minor gripes, it is a completely ace vehicle. The engine and transmission are spectaculat, and it sounds great imo. I think this design will age really well. It feels special to drive, yet there are enough owners/large enough community to make sure there are DIYs, parts, and aftermarket solutions to nearly any problem you may encounter. Wouldn't avoid this car even given the above gripes. |

Interior rattles galore. Interior not as nice as a Mercedes. M4 is fast, but C63 is still faster.

Don't like the first 20 seconds of exhaust note on cold start. A bit obnoxious IMHO. But otherwise a wonderful car.

Im not a fan of M3 rear. The bumper and trunk area is too large and too bulbous in proportion to the body. The tail lights aren't sleek at all also. On Sakhir Orange red tail lights merge with the body color and there is no contrast. Carbon fiber pieces helped a lot tho.

Zero complaints that spoil ownership, M4cs, can't even complain of a lack of arm rest or storage because its taught me to be minimalistic and both hands are on the wheel at all times.
120% happy with my choice. |

traction control either totally nerfs the car or makes it into a death machine if your skills arent good.

No regrets whatsoever.
My biggest gripe about the car is the useless default DDC combination of Efficient/Sport/Sport.

You asking for more than just TC, you want a better DSC to compensate for you driving skills.

Random noise from the DCT that makes me turn the radio down paying more attention to the car right after, and then look at the info screen to see if there is any cel.
How DCT put the trans to neutral when coasting slow enough. It usually happens exactly when I step on the gas to go, thus create that jerkiness. |

This really is my only gripe about the car. It's just a stupid combination, and I wish you could change the default startup mode. While not that big of a deal, I don't like having to press M1 every time I start the car to get to my preferred daily settings.

The car is temperamental in 1st gear, especially when cold, but I’m getting used to it!
Also not super happy with the sound system, but I rarely listen to the radio - just listen to German engineering... |

probably the color. i've grown to like silverstone more than the whites. but still wish i could have found a SO interior
