Brake wear sensor error issue
Howdy folks,
I have a 2019 x5 50i XDrive i bought last week. Just threw a 480A12 - Brake pad sensor - rear axle - wear limit reached. Brakes were done in September at the dealer and no codes were present when I bought the rig. I removed, inspected, and replaced (even though the old one looked great) and still the same error. Made sure the parking brake was disengaged. BimmerLink is unable to clear the error. Thoughts? Last edited by Bocca; 11-20-2024 at 01:34 PM.. |

Then I would get hold of the dealer who replaced your brakes and tell them the story. Normally when pads are replaced, so are the sensors. Since they did the work, they may be willing to give it a quick look over at no charge. In the meantime, go into your iDrive menu and take a look at the Service Requirements screen and see what it says. Are there any idiot lights or messages displayed about this issue? What alerted you about the error?
Here is a pic from the internet so your screen might look a bit diff, but not by much. |
