Blinking red light on the back of interior mirror
Anyone knows why there is a red blinking light on the back of interior mirror when the vehicle is locked and not in use?

It's to show the bad guys that you're locked and alarmed, so move on.
Just curious, but have you ever had a vehicle with an alarm before? |

Then you've never owned a BMW before. Welcome to our world. The blinking clown nose is common to BMW's as long as I can remember. It means the alarm is armed.
