Some more information: My X6 was delivered today to the dealer (that was really fast). CA says sticker doesn’t have any deletes. Service will be prepping it tomorrow so will find out for sure. My CA told me that he is pretty sure it has the touchscreen. He did see one car recently that didn’t have the deletes showing in the system and when it arrived the deletes were listed on the sticker and a note with the stop sale until re-programming was completed. More info tomorrow….

I didn’t get another credit for Deletion of Backup Assist - beyond the $500 just for Touchscreen Deletion - but I also had not ordered / purchase the Parking Assistant package myself.

So, have secured a dealer allocation that I was able to change the options on. The original order had hitch and few other…I basically added every other option available except luxury seating.
Dealer says production week is week 50.

Now the touchscreen delete has me concerned and I wanted to back out of the deal. Dealer says since this was ordered before the screen deletion that this car is protected from any further deletions which may include touchscreen and hitch.

I’m not 100% confident that the dealer can assure me no deletions will happen when the X5 gets on the production line. I’ve read here some order that are arriving now have deleted touchscreens, so how does a week 50 build get a touchscreen. Did they just run out of them for a few weeks?

Anyone else here receive an X5 with touchscreen absent.

The dealer definitely is not correct. The deletions can happen at any time as we have seen. We are still waiting on confirmation but it looks like some are being built with touchscreens once again while others aren't.

there has never been a credit extended for the deletion of Backup Assistant, only $500 for the touchscreen deletion.

the going thought is the non-touchscreen is a different piece of hardware from the touchscreen, thus warrants a monetary credit whereas the Backup Assistant is simply software where those 0s and 1s don't amount to anything.

Mine is k47xxx and has touchscreen and hitch. It will get to the dealership Sunday.

I'm K49xxx, and still waiting for it to get on the assembly line. The production date is 11/19, so any day now. So far no deletes showing. Crossing my fingers....

What I gathered from my chat with the CA was this; every X5 order he placed from the same time frame as mine, that had BMW Individual Interiors, came with touchscreens.

Individual interior, that's what did it? Interested to see the interior that gets touch screens. Post some pictures

No, that had no effect on whether or not a touchscreen was installed. It was just a matter of timing. There were special editions built without a touchscreen.

Since the 2nd thing has nothing to do with the first thing, we really have no idea if individual HAD an impact or not ... or is having an impact or not ... or will have an impact or not

Though it does seem random, ignoring that F95/6 seem to be exempt & maybe the XB7s? And, for example it wouldn't be surprising if the special editions were too late for exemption, but a new supply has come in and now they're picking & choosing and exempting, say, individual cars ...

In short, we really have no idea if individual interiors did, do, or will have an impact, and can't say yes or no

And BMW NA did reach out to me and handled my situation. They acknowledged that it was indeed a terrible situation that should have never happened and moved me allocation to a new dealer with confirmed touch screen. My wife ended up decided to shift to an X7 M50I but confirmed that it will have touch screen and goes into production in 10 days. We still have dibs on an X5 M50I if she changes her mind in the next few days and confirmed that would also have touch screen. My new rep at the new dealer confirmed they are fully back on everything moving forward. The irony is my other car arrived today to the dealership.

Now, I’m still thrilled with the new car, so I think I’ll be able to see past this for the time being. iDrive is still the best in my view.

With that being said. If we have a vehicle that we have not received yet that does not have the touch screen, should we cancel and reorder?
