Has anyone been charged yet or purchased same?

That is not for the X5 since High Beam Assist is a standard feature (in most if not all markets). That would be for models where high beam assist is an option/part of a package.

It doesn't work well enough to pay for anyway, never turns the lights to dim fast enough people always flash before the car gets around to it, works much better on my Mercedes, never use it on the X5.

Luckily I have had the opposite experience with mine, they work very well and have not had one instance of them not dimming fast enough. What version of iDrive are you running? Could it be that with an earlier version they didn't operate properly?

Works perfectly on my X5. I've never been high beamed once because it blinds someone. I'm actually always thinking about how it shuts them off so quickly, sometimes before I realize the car is even there.

There’s something in the owner’s manual about changing the sensitivity on the high beam assist. I have yet to figure it out. Something about holding the stalk forward for 10 seconds, but I haven’t seen a message pop up. Any suggestions? Might help OP.

Try the steps listed here (and pasted below) to see if that works for an X5 as well.
1) The car has to be stationary with the engine running 2) Press the HBA button to activate HBA 3) Pull the turn signal lever toward you for manual HB 4) Hold it there for 15 seconds 5) Watch warning sign pop up on the iDrive screen 6) HBA Reduced Sensitivity Mode activated

I tried the directions in the manual, but had no luck before. I’ll have to mess with it. The reference to “the light” confused me. Wasn’t sure if it mean the HBs of any of the headlights. 50/50 shot a guess.
