Belgium/Europe order

Hello Everyone,

I have one question about deliveries in Belgium/Europe.

I have ordered a BMW x5 50e (fully equiped) in end of february.

Do you know when production will begin ? Where can I have this information ? I see some people in the forum talking of My Bmw but since I don't have a vin yet, I can't track anything.

Did someone do a similar order and have already some status ?

I visited 3 garages before my order. The first one told me that the delivery won't be before november/december and the one where I ordered it told me he had 2 allocations (not sure of the term?) for september.

Edit : Picture of the configuration

Kind regards

I have a 50e on order in Spain, ordered last week of december, got allocation for mid-march (production week), currently now on a boat to Europe. In my particular case it took 5 months from order to delivery (expected late may)
To me it seems that september as the earliest allocation you can get is pretty far, I think you may get some earlier allocations in other dealerships? Don't know the particular case of Belgium, though.
Congratulations on your new car!

Hello,

September is delivery date. Is it the same as allocation ?

No, allocation means like a slot in the production line. Delivery date is usually like 2 months later than the allocation time, for Europe.

I don't really know it for sure, but I assume it.
There is no way (at least that I know) for us europeans to know the vessel our car is in, but we can suppose it.
Car was ready on 16th march, and dealer has the 13th may as delivery date, so I think either it is on a boat or will be in the next few days.

mine has been in 165 since January 18th, the delivery was scheduled for the end of February, this week they wrote to me that it will arrive in Europe at the end of April and delivered in Italy at the beginning of May... we'll see... in any case it's still in 165

3 months waiting for a boat is not a normal situation, what excuse did your dealer give to you?
I would have cancelled long ago

As far as I know, there is no such a Genius service in Europe as they have in the US, where they can call and get updates on their order.
The only way to get updated info from your car is to call your dealer.

You can go to bmw website, use the Chat function, ask them for an order update, give them your order number (7 numbers) and they tell you which stage in the process it is and estimated production date. Works in UK

I've been waiting for a year now and I decided to move forward because I've been waiting too long to cancel the order... it's a subtle psychological game. But I can say that I will never order a car this way again. If I feel good the next one will be a prompt delivery. If I'm not happy this is definitely the last BMW I'll buy.

Among other things, reading an article on the least reliable cars of 2023, BMW is practically in first place and the x5 and x6 are at the top of the list as cars that will have problems... now the components of these cars are totally made in China There is nothing left of German except the brand that produces them

I feel sad to hear that and I hope you get your BMW as soon as possible, my feelings about the brand are quite the same, I can't help to see the old glory years of the brand and the M logo are gone long ago, but these are the times we are meant to live.
Greetings!

Yes, the times of the end of the European automotive industry or certainly of how we knew it. ZF announced at the beginning of the year the closure of two plants in Germany and the dismissal of 12,000 people. We should have protected our European companies more but we are too divided and in the end we only share the currency but not a true European feeling.

How long does the dealer expect your time to delivery to Belgium, after production? Also in the waiting list…

Ordered early in september 2023 and car is now sailing to Zeebrugge. I expect it will arrive at the dealer somewhere on July. So that will be around 10 - 11 months from order to delivery. Mine is a 50e though. Not sure for the non plugins. Transportation alone the expectation is 2 months.
