I believe the spare tire uses the storage space.

I wasn't given an option for spare tire on my g05 order (Canada) and I want it for the $150 Americans are being offered on their ordering guide. I'll send them back the stupid air compressor and the can of tire patch. There is something about running 22's with non-RFT's that doesn't sit well with me when I leave my city limits. BMW dropped the ball on this non-option and should be giving us G05 owners some in store credit to cover the cost to actually order the part when/if it ever becomes available Last edited by EJELITE; 02-20-2019 at 05:48 PM.. |

That has got to be loaded with a lot of useless, profit making packs. The car comes standard with about everything you need. |

mine was a last minute add, glad my CA took care of things for me there. I almost didn't want it after they took so much space away in my X3

I tried to add it to my build on Saturday... turns out mine build had changed to 150 status (Production Started) on Friday, so I couldn't make any more changes... I guess if I really want it I can get it after the fact somehow!

I noticed "Gesture control option delete". -$190
I doubt I would actually use this....can it be deleted? To those with feature...is it useful (after the novelty demonstration)? |

I find myself using it way more than I thought I would for answering and ignoring phone calls, and switching tracks. It works perfectly every time (except when I am trying to show somebody how it works, that's the only time it betrays me )

Every once and awhile I try mine for fun but prefer the steering wheel controls. My wife, one the other hand, really likes the gesture control for controlling the volume. Just just wishes she had one that worked on my singing.

Can you confirm what my CA told me about the spare tire option please. We're looking around there yesterday and he comments that the spare raises the entire deck underneath by 4 or so inches. Is that true? Sounds really weird to me.

I don't think this is the case. The spare tire is not a full size. It is much narrower than the OEM tires. It fits in the storage space without any interference with the top cover. It is absolutely worth the $150. The jack alone would probably cost $50. Even with runflats having a spare makes sense if you ever have a catastrophic tire failure.

No, it did on the G01 X3 but only about 2in not 4, he's high. The X5's spare doesn't change deck height at all

Get a-plug kit and a small compressor, you’ll be fine. With 8 years in my X3 with no spare there was never a time I had to have it, and only one it would have been handy. There is also a possibility to get one later, I assume, (but don’t know for sure), the space is still there for one?

I've had so many cars since the turn of the century (M's and P cars) that came with no spare tires and can-go-flats that having no spare isn't even an issue to me. I always ditch the run flats for better tires myself too. A compressor kit gives me peace of mind. The 1 time I had a flat I didn't even bother to pull it out. I just called BMW assist and they flatbedded it, gave me a lift home and the next day my dealership brought my car with a new tire on it to my house. Maybe if I lived in the middle of nowhere I'd feel different though. Probably not though.
