What a masterpiece! Pix, San Antonio dealership, etc.
Build: 40i, Alpine white, Coffee merino extended leather with the Luxury Seating Package, Poplar anthracite brown trim, Convenience package including Gesture control (no fee), trailer hitch.
MSRP - $67,445 including destination Sales price - 62449.77 or .923% of MSRP Trade -$19,000 Discounts/rebates applied yada yada Financed - $7,500 (minimum required to get the $2,000 rebate) On the road - $37,038! Applied for the $1,000 BMW CCA rebate yesterday. What a frickin' deal overall for such a fine luxury car! Only had the car 2 days but we're very impressed so far. Also the buying experience at BMW San Antonio was exemplary from start to finish. Can't say enough good things about our Sales rep, Sale director....even the finance fella was cool. It's a masterpiece - drives well, supremely quiet, very easy to use intuitive iDrive interface which was so important to us old pHarts. Seats are very comfy after the initial adjustment. We LOVE the massaging seats. Anthracite brown trim is a little black for my tastes, it is what it is. Rear seats are a bit wrinkly but according to the sales rep nothing as "bad" as what was initially coming out of Spartanburg. The puffs are just that, puffs. Am torn to what is kinda a classy elegant look to hmmmmm. Choice of controls is excellent, best in the industry so says my sales rep who's seen them all - voice, switches/buttons, touch screen. Leg and knee room is fine, another worry based on the "what if" thinking I had. Engine - good gawd man, what in the hell is under that hood! This much power should be against the law. Ambient lighting, audio, storage space, maps, screens, etc....all very nice. Outside door handles and ground lighting is over the top. What a nice touch. Cameras and screens are great. I'm 5'11" with a 30" inseam. Front legroom is excellent with a good inch or two to spare with my seat adjusted back far enough that my legs are fully extended leaving the rear leg room a bit tight. I can run up the seats a couple of inches when we have passengers and we'll all be just fine. Next step is to take my nervous bride on our country backroad from the city back to the farm and let her get acquainted with it. I too have much to learn. This beast is complex. ONE of the many floor showrooms for you Texans still on the fence - BMW San Antonio. Biggest dealership in the U.S., 3rd largest in the world. 300,000 s.f., 115 services bays, half have techs.
I got lost after using the men's room. Very upscale place with new LG paper thin flat screens on the wall, concession area, etc. Last edited by Mark609; 02-23-2019 at 03:50 PM.. |

Very Nice. Mine is in the plant as we speak, going through quality check. Picking up at the performance center mid March. This is what i ordered: Sunstone Metallic, Coffee Extended Marino, M Sport Package, Executive Package, Lux Seating, Premium Package 2, Comfort Handling, Parking Assistance, Active Cruise, Heated Seats / Armrests, Glass Controls, Harman Kardon, Luggage Compartment Package, M Sport Brakes, Trailer Hitch, 21" Wheels. Traded in a 2015 535i, really didn't get much for it. Oh well, on to better driving.

And FWIW, my CA told me he has not seen one bug with the iDrive system yet. Ours seems to be fine too. Am curious to what version the firmware is. Where's that info at? Went into System, didn't find it. |

Thanks, we got what we wanted. Yes, I am a cynic by nature. BTW, why would we have an Individual "rating"? Just because we ordered the Luxury seats? |

You guys look great in your new X5. It will make you forget those Lexus of the past and set a new bar in what a (performance) luxury SUV can be. Enjoy in good health. You will fall in love with those seats. Give them a few miles to brake into your butt. Trust me, I did 1100 mile in one day in those seats. No back or butt pain the next day.

Interior door sill designations are xLine, M Sport and Individual. Interesting, did you order the leather dashboard? Looks like they're starting to upgrade interior upper dash and upper door tops from plain soft touch to stitched.

To find out what firmware version you have, go to the "Car" option, then general settings, then scroll down to "Upgrade firmware" and it'll show you what version you have. |

Compared to Japanese and American made Germans have some weird habits/customs including smoking (the included ash can is a hoot) and a lack of storage capacity. We love the seats. Cargo area is really spacious and nice with a well designed rake. |

I noticed that the wood trim is different in the cars too. Was checking out others on the showroom and some of the brown wood grain trims were really nice. I'm a hobbist woodworker of fine hardwoods and appreciate fine grain. Too bad they have to mess it up with a shiny finish. Satin or flat fits these cars much better IMO. What's missing is some of that good old Texas mesquite trim! Absolutely breathtaking grain and colors. |

Audi Q7 tiny console is the main reason why we didn't buy an Audi last year. Their cupholders wouldn't begin to embrace a can of Lone Star beer. What a joke.

BTW, CA said "the word is out" regarding the sloppy rear seats. Said when the X5's first started rolling in they looked horrible. I guess someone finally got BMW's designer engineers attention.
