Any updates for 2020 X5's that started production?

Sorry if this has already been discussed, but how soon after placing your order did you guys get your actual production # so that you could start tracking it? Just curious. I placed my order a couple days ago and am still waiting for a production # to enter into the my garage app.

We ordered ours on July 17. Our dealer used one of the production allocations they had for our order, so we got a production number before we left the dealership. When we got home we could track the order online. By then it was already at "Ready for Production".

Now it is in transit from Spartenburg and we expect to pick it up by Monday, depending on when the truck gets to the dealership.

I specced a week 32 allocation at the end of week 29, on a Saturday. On Monday near end of day my CA sent me the Vehicle Inquiry Report which had my production number shown on it. Ask your CA for that report and, as long as you've got a locked up allocation built, it should contain your production #.

Thanks guys. Yeah the vehicle inquiry report my CA sent over didn't have the production # on it (it was left blank). I called them up today and they said they probably won't have that for another couple days. Was just curious what others experiences were.

I guess I'm just being impatient

800 number told me August 9th production date when I called a few days ago but as of today still in Production begins status.

Did you call today? Did they still say 9th? Likely pushed back two days as this was what has happened to most others. The wait is almost over. Hang in there!

Which trim option did you go with? When I was at the dealer to spec mine I had the graphite and arctic laid across the coffee leather swatch - and I actually thought that graphite went best with coffee; but I went with arctic to get that very slight blue tone in the paint.

I think it's going to be a stunner, great combo you picked.

I know there have been some threads on this issue before, and I'm still not completely clear on it. Also part of this is just me being super impatient and wanting to get the car ASAP. But the vehicle inquiry report I was given has the status "047 - Spec. released no" on it.

I understand this has to do with dealership not having any allocations currently. Has anyone had experience with this and how long it took to get out of that status? I'm hoping the dealership calls me later this week at least with a production #, but communication hasn't seemed to be their strong point. Should I be harassing the dealership to move this along?

Finally picked mine up. It took a bit longer than expected, but it is amazing. Feels like a whole new level of Luxury when compared to the Audi I had. I got the aluminum tetragon interior trim, and let me just say that pictures don't do it justice it is amazing and has a texture to it that I did not expect. With the black interior it goes perfect. I have PPF scheduled for this coming Friday.

A few things as a heads up. I was not able to get a tag because the system did not recognize the VIN, so I have a loaner agreement with me in case I get stopped, should have a tag this week though. Tried insurance and they had the same problem, not in the system yet. So riding with sort of insurance and have to call in if I get stopped.

The only issue during the day was that ran over this bolt on my way home and had my first flat on one of the rear tires. Saw it when I got home. Luckily it patched since I don't have the run flats.

All in all a great experience and ready to explore the ins and outs of the X5.

And for those that asked, no incentives for the 2020 X5 as of right now.

Awesome, congratulations! How is the back seat situation for 2020? Is wrinkled still the new flat?
