Guys, I remember that I have seen in some posts some timelines with the statuses of the cars. My car has just changed to status 150 and got assigned a VIN this morning. Who will be so merciful and post his timeline for me? Thank you.

Usually your VIN is assigned a few weeks before your car is produced. Usually a day or two after it's assigned your CA or BMW Customer Relations should be able to give you your estimated date of completion. The automated phone system tracker may even have a date up at this point and if not it should soon. Do you know your build week?

Unfortunately yes, but I am being optimistic that I will get it before, meaning this year. That is why I was asking.

10/24 Order Placed 11/27 VIN Assigned 12/3 Completion date assigned as 12/16. Shortly after it was moved up to 12/12/ 12/11 I started to see a lot of movement on the tracker. SA says I should have the car next week. So 2 months-ish the the ballpark for the entire process. But once the VIN is assigned it was more like 3 weeks. Maybe once the factory gets rolling they come out faster? Come to this thread often to soften the blow!! |

Wow... 4 days from when production started until it was dispatched? I can be hopeful now.

Still stuck at Quality Check. While I’m certain it’s just a matter of the tracker not updating, I’m also certain that they found a problem and had to start over.
Am I nuts or what? |

There is probably an algorithm that correlates the number of times a status is checked to how long the vehicle spends in quality check. Just to mess with us.

So for those of you who have recent builds... how close to your estimated completion date did the tracker start showing production movement. Our estimated completion date is tomorrow and the tracker is still showing "Production Begins".

Mine started moving about 4 days before my estimated completion date. It went through the assembly line in 1 day then sat in quality check for 2 days then dispatched and delivered on day 4 which was earlier than promised. I would call the genius and see if you're delayed.

I didn't see any real movement until actual date of completion but you have to take a huge grain of salt with that tracker; it's not always reliable. I believe the actual construction of your vehicle began not long after your VIN was assigned. The actual "assembly" of the vehicle is like less than a day.
