If you can coordinate well, you'll probably be able to secure two really nice deals.
Unfortunately I haven't seen that happen based on experience.

Also... After Dec 31st it's more difficult to get the same discount you would have gotten

I can personally vouch for your second point about post-Dec 31st discounts being more difficult to obtain (specifically post-Jan 2nd deals since that is when December rates/incentives changed). My almost 11% discount off MSRP in December very quickly changed to 9% in January. Unfortunately we were waiting on someone to take over our F15 X5 before we could lock in December, and that didn't happen until second week of January.

As to the first point, my friend and I have done it once and we both got better deals than when we negotiated alone for each of our cars. Of course, every dealer and every experience is different.

I'm not disputing your experience, but I'd say in your case of 11% discount, they would probably not discount any further even if you were to bring a second deal in.

I was about to go pick up from the existing inventory of a 2020 with 15.5% off a MSRP of 70,595 (roughly 11.8% before incentives or so doing it mentally as my rebates are 2750 -- conquest + APR finance). No OLE code or anything else to use, nor loyalty.

Got a call from a dealer GSM in the area offering 15.1% off MSRP of for a custom order -- (comes to about 11.3% before incentives ~ to Wxnatscaps).

MSRP 71831 including destination fee
Sale price 60984.59
MD title/tag fee 335
dealer processing fee 299
Tax 3659.07

Total 65277.59

Finance term 2.99% at 60 months
12k down payment
financed amount 53277.59

Thoughts about the deal?
Are there anything else i should be asking for?
Nope you did the best. I have the same dealer and I only negotiated to 10.93% only.
What MD dealership did you go to?

Passport, but you probably can't get the same discount after Jan 1st from what I've heard, this applies to any dealer.

Quick question: I am off topic, but did your car come with any manuals like the owner's manual, maintenance and stuff like that?

Yep, my BMW digital key card and manuals were in a black BMW soft case - soft cover owner's manual, warranty info, etc.

Try holding it against the far right part of the handle, that seems to work the best

Looking at a $98K MSRP X6 M50i order out. What do you think a fair discount should be? My trade is a "like new" 2014 X5 50i w/M Sport Pkg with 118K miles, a car that I think they will ask $22K for.

I don't think you'll get anywhere close to $22K with 118K miles. Doesn't matter "like new" or not.

If you're staying in midwest, you're probably not gonna hit 10% off MSRP for ordering.

Per Edmunds you‘ll get $11-12K on the ‘14.

6-9% discount would be good IMO (excluding mfg rebates) on ordered X6. As I recall as they are newer model their discount % is less than X5. Markets vary significantly so you might need to shop other states.

Good luck.

Negotiating on PCD of X5 x40i

Live in NC and planning to place an order for PCD of an x40i. Looking for advice on what a fair discount is. The first salesman I spoke with told me that I could get a much better deal if I bought something in-stock (not surprised); said he's never done PCD before and didn't seem eager for me to be his first. I'm seeing folks getting 9-10% off MSRP. Should I target the same for a PCD, or should I expect less? Any advice will be appreciated.

Also, if you've worked with a dealer in NC that's familiar with PCD, I'm all ears.

MSRP = $68,645 (if that matters).

Thanks!
Jim
