If I or RaceChip USA can get hold on a car for data-logging before Germany, we should be able to put something together faster.

Getting ready to replace my 340 Performance as it comes on lease. Had the previous generation X5M, which may have been the best all around vehicle I have ever had.
Tried the X5 M50i today and, to be honest, in the city I think it has all that I need. I loved have the top dog in the last model, but really don't think I will take advantage of everything it has to offer. The clincher, though, may be that the lease rate is currently 1.99% for the M50, and with loyalty, that goes down to 1.24%. Hard to pony up the extra $30K CDN to get to the X5MC when the lease rate for that is 5.99% (5.25% with loyalty reduction). |

I was all set to order the F95 tomorrow in carbon fiber/sakhir which would be a beautiful combo at least on paper. 3 different dealers will offer at most a 3k discount off the 118K MSRP. I'm not impressed with the photos of the exterior of the new X5M to say the least. I find the interior of the the 2020 X5 M50 I drove cluttered and not impressive either (especially the gauges). And it's hard to want to get into the first year of this beast knowing there will be improvements and kinks worked out for next year. If anything it seems the first year should have the largest discount. Funny that when the car will be at its finest iteration (probably 2024ish) it will be available at its lowest price. I REALLY wanted to like the M50 but it just doesn't drive like an M. The F85 is a gorgeous car. The F95...just can't get on the boat on this one. So...I'm pretty hesitant to buy this thing without even driving it. And...I'd have to buy another winter setup for 4K because BMW changed the bolt pattern from the last 20 years. So now I'm strongly considering buying my lease '17 at the 64K residual. Car will be at 45K miles. I realize this is not a great deal, but we know how we drove and maintained it, and love the color combo (long beach blue/silverstone). I plan on buying an exclusionary warranty and keeping it to 7 years/100k. Am I a fool for thinking this is a reasonable idea? Any comments welcome. I intentionally posted this on the F85 forum as well please don't shoot flames at me.

By the time 2024 rolls around, the X5M will be old news and BMW will have to discount the car to move units. |

Yeah the latest/greatest concept has never made sense to me. I prefer tried and true/highest quality and reliability. My uber low mileage 2006 M3 went for a premium price on bringatrailer because I guess there are others out there like me. Not many, but some

It seems to me that the only question for you is whether you buy your leased 17 or just get another vehicle altogether (not the F95). If you still truly love your F85, then maybe you buy because its the devil you know. If youve enjoyed it, but youre ready for something new/different, then dont. Have you considered a different vehicle? I personally love the exterior/interior (in the pictures) of the F95 so Im holding out. In fact my only concern with the F95 - having never driven it - is whether its ride will be too harsh around town. If I decided against it for some reason, Id likely go Cayenne turbo...but probably be pissed about the extra $$$. |

Just going back to the original post, I saw this Car and Driver article released today (link below) which is very complimentary of the M50i. I thought it was relevant to the OP because it seems to suggests the M50i has plenty of muscle, sportiness and luxe for most everyone except true M diehards (my words not the authors).
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.car...y-the-numbers/ Im still holding out for the X5MC, but my decision has more to do with the cosmetic differences (exterior and interior as well as color options for both) of the F95 than the increased power/handling. To be clear, I obviously like the way the M50i looks too and would definitely buy it if the F95 didnt exist. I just like the way the X5MC looks a little more. |

Overall the wifey (and I) are enjoying our M50i w/DHP, but I would be lying if I said I didn't miss the specialness of our 2018 X5M beast. You need to own a genuine ///M series to understand it. Look at the skid pad differences in the article. The F95 is going to be that much better too. Regardless, it's the wifey's car (X5M was overkill for her, not me!), and I still have my M3CS to enjoy.

Absolutely agree with you about the reflector delete. It's actually just a $2 piece of vinyl wrap. Before and after with my winter setup

Oh my God, that is sh&t hot! What color interior?
My allocation for a F95 finally landed Friday. Im going with Marina Bay Blue which I understand is very similar to SMB. Jesus, I hope mine looks half as good. |

And I really like the glass control & luggage pkg options & standard fog lights on the M50i - not available; on the M. Lastly I love the 747M wheel option on the M50i. Not thrilled with the XM5 wheel choices |

This is also when I learned that of all the M's that I have owned that I likely never even scratched the surface of their capabilities because I didn't track them. |
