thoughts on this deal for ordered x40i
just joined here this week and moving quickly towards an x5. i typically take a bit longer to do my research but not working out that way it seems.
This is for an ordered 40i with M sport, carbon black and some options with a sticker price of $73,470 which includes Dest. Discount offered is 9.5% plus an additional $2,750 if i finance $10K and make payments for 6 months. he also waived some other $250 fee, don't remember what it was or if something bogus. what do you think. |

I am looking for a dealer in Southern California who is known for giving good deals. Can anyone share the deal information you got from a purchase in 2020? Also, please share the sales person's contact information.

Discounts in South Florida
Did anyone land a good 2020 X5 deal in South Florida ? I am not seeing any discounts that are being posted here. With every dealer it starts with only 2.5 and goes up to 5 to 6 percent. Please share your experiences.

Upon first glance looks like the base MF in February MIGHT have gone back down to 0.00128. Can't wait for Jason to post February rates/residuals/incentives in a couple of days!

Folks, need some help. I have never done a lease before and want to lease the 2020 G06 x40i. I did some research already but wanted to check with you people to see what I'm missing before speaking with a list of dealers I have.
1) Do people generally lease a vehicle that's already at the lot? Is it uncommon to lease a custom build? 2) I will need to know the MSRP of my build and negotiate a discount before any incentives, right? (I will review the pricing guide.) 3) Ask the dealer to provide the money factor and residual value, right? I'm looking for 3 years/10k. I heard MF could be negotiated, right? 4) I will be a first time BMW driver and I believe I'm qualified for conquer. Does BMWFS offer any lease rebate? I'm already a CCA member since summer 2019. 5) I want to get rid of my current car. If buying, I know the trade-in value of my current vehicle is tax-deductable. Does leasing have something like this? I heard that in a lease, trade-in is a separate transaction. 6) For a lease, how do I avoid upfront payment? Is it possible to have zero (or minimal) upfront payment? 7) What else do I need to know? Any help would be appreciated. Last edited by doctorttt; 02-07-2020 at 07:52 PM.. |

1) It's totally up to you if you want to lease one that's already on the lot or to do a custom build. Folks on here routinely lease custom builds, so it's not uncommon at all. And depending on your dealership, you may be able to get just as good of a discount on a custom order as an in-stock vehicle (though usually the custom build are slightly more since the dealer is not "stuck with it" and doesn't have to be as aggressive on the discount off MSRP). 2) Yes, you need to know the MSRP of the in-stock vehicle or your custom build before you can proceed and negotiate a percentage discount off the MSRP before incentives. And that really is the key - you want to get a dealer to tell you what their selling price of the vehicle will be before applying any incentives. I'm not familiar with what G06 X6, but I know for G05 X5 a 9-10% discount off MSRP is good and 11%+ is really good. 3) The residual is typically fixed and the same across the board for all dealers. For 3 years/10k miles it's 57% for the G06 this month. The base MF for February is 0.00142, though some dealers hike this up to recoup any loss on their selling price. The key is to try to get the base MF applied to your deal. So yes, the MF can be negotiated if the dealer starts off with anything higher than the base. 4) BMW FS is currently offering $500 lease credit for G06 in February and $1,250 in loyalty credit (need to have BMW in same household). Not sure if conquest would apply to a lease. And as for CCA, you'll get a $1,000 post-purchase rebate from them after you sign your lease. Be sure to timely fill out the application after signing your lease (i.e., after taking delivery of your car). 5) Not sure, I've never traded in a car before. 6) I would just recommend really doing your homework and figuring out what options you want, etc. so you don't regret not getting something. This is a big purchase, so make it count! Good luck!

1) Do people generally lease a vehicle that's already at the lot? Is it uncommon to lease a custom build? If it's uncommon to lease a custom build it's only so because people are not aware of that option (and I'm not sure dealers advertise the ability to custom order). But you can choose to lease either way. 2) I will need to know the MSRP of my build and negotiate a discount before any incentives, right? (I will review the pricing guide.) Yes, it's best to be as well-informed as possible when going into this process. Don't rely on the sales person to provide you with information, rather, the sales person should simply be confirming the information you already have through your research. 3) Ask the dealer to provide the money factor and residual value, right? I'm looking for 3 years/10k. I heard MF could be negotiated, right? Residual value is fixed through BMWFS so that's ok to ask the dealer. But I would strongly advise you go in knowing what the base money factor already is, because that's something dealerships can (and often do) mark up. The money factor is negotiable up to the base rate set by BMWFS, and can not be negotiated below that. (i.e. if the base money factor is set at 0.00142 but the dealer is trying to charge you 0.00182, you have the ability to negotiate it down to the 0.00142 base rate). Edmunds forums provide a great resource for money factor and residual value information. https://forums.edmunds.com/discussio...als-and-prices 4) I will be a first time BMW driver and I believe I'm qualified for conquer. Does BMWFS offer any lease rebate? I'm already a CCA member since summer 2019. I would reference Edmunds for that information as well. 5) I want to get rid of my current car. If buying, I know the trade-in value of my current vehicle is tax-deductable. Does leasing have something like this? I heard that in a lease, trade-in is a separate transaction. Trade-in can be factored into the same transaction similar to when buying, but it's typically advisable to treat a trade-in as a separate transaction so as not to muddy the waters with the deal you're getting (often times dealers may try to recoup money from one end or another, either a lower discount on your car or a lower value for your trade-in). By separating the transactions you remove any potential confusion the dealer may (intentionally or not) cause. 6) For a lease, how do I avoid upfront payment? Is it possible to have zero (or minimal) upfront payment? Typically yes you can request a $0 drive-off in which all fees/taxes are simply rolled into the monthly payment. This may vary by region/dealer, but it's something you can request. 7) What else do I need to know? As mentioned earlier, do as much research as possible before approaching this. Ultimately your goal is to have all the numbers figured out on your own, and at that point the dealer simply needs to agree or decline. The benefit this provides is that the sales person then sees this as an "easy sale" because all of the up-front work has been done. In that case they're more likely to agree to a better discount. Another thing I would suggest is to involve multiple dealers to help secure the best deal for you. If one dealer doesn't agree to your numbers, move on to the next. In my experience, I did all negotiations over email/phone, and the only time I stepped foot into the dealer was to sign the paperwork, and then a 2nd time when it was time to take delivery of my car. Good luck!

Need help with lease.
Hi Guys.
My order is punched in and got allocation and production scheduled. I was leaning towards financing, but now I am going for lease. I got 8.6% discount before incentives. Sounded like a pretty good deal so far. They did not ask for deposit yet. So, should I get my lease numbers in writing before production starts ? I did everything in leasehachr. Should I take a screenshot and bargain ? Thanks in advance for your help ! |

I asked for the worksheet they showed me to take with me, they refused. Finally I got it. When I did the math in leisure, all they did was cap cost reduction using down payment (2250) part of 5000 down payment they asked me, after 5.8% discount. Not sure if I am allowed to post that worksheet or not. It is a joke. Back to square one. p.s: Oh! by the way, MF was .00182 !!!!!! Thank you all. Last edited by ChickinX5; 02-11-2020 at 08:50 PM.. |

Yeah a lot of dealerships will make it sound like a great discount only to have it be superficial, with incentives added in. I've heard Florida dealers are pretty stingy with their discounts, but it would be worthwhile to get multiple dealers involved.
