HK is miles better than the standard audio system. I have owned the G05 w and w/o HK. In other BMWs the standard system isn't bad but in the G05, the standard audio is awful.

let me see if I can test drive both. Right now I have added Air Suspension based on the threads I have seen in the forum but never drove the car with either Adaptive M or Air Suspension. My last two X5 were Luxary and Xline. M-sport will be the first model in Dec. |

BMW suspension has always been harsh, and I want some flexibility even if it means it will never be as sporty as it should, although lowering it enough will gain some stability while possibly adding some body roll..

The only way I have found is you manually lower the car and then disable the system by pulling on the rocker switch for 7 seconds and then letting go, the light will go off.

So what's the verdict, get the air suspension $1k or not?
I am going for Premium Package instead of Convenience, so HK will come with that. But I am still on the fence about 2-axle air suspension. I am getting 20" rims, so I don't want to get harsh ride, hoping air suspension helps, but I also don't want it too rocky, especially when hitting brakes or accelerating, will it lean forward and back during those? I can't test drive one with 2-Axle suspensions, there is non in the area.. This reminds me of 6 years ago when I was trying to find X5 with 4 wheel active steering, non of the dealers had them.

Get the air suspension. That is no rocking when braking or accelerating. I don't have any floaty feeling with mine but of course that is all based on personal experience and preference. |

Because it's $5750 + $150 = $5900. vs $1000.

Ugh, does it roll more? I loved taking corners faster with my F15, it was planted! Although E70 with wider tires was actually better, and with stiffer suspension for sure. F15 made things softer to add "comfort and luxury feel", but it still was stable. I am worried G05 is already softer without air suspension and don't want to make it any softer. I just want the air suspension for going over bumps and when I don't just want to enjoy long drives without road fatigue. I understand we cannot have it both, take curves fast and have comfort. Can we lower it while driving or code it to lower when we switch it to sport or M/S mode? Would lowering give you more stability, since technically it will be lower than standard suspension in it's lower position?

^ The suspension automatically lowers when you are in Sport or M/S mode. You can also set it to be lowered in Comfort and Adaptive modes, not sure about Eco mode as I don't use it.

My understanding is no to lowering and/or coding to lower - i'm hoping someone with M-car experience and Air Suspension experience will give us a comparison....

I tried to find videos explaining these, but the usual BMW is missing specific option videos again.

Raising and lowering the car is only with AS not with M adaptive suspension (professional). There is an error in the US configurator (other thread). Adaptive changes the behaviour of the dampers not the height of it. AS lowers the car to level L2 when switched to driving mode sport. Not with switching the gear M/S. I think it also lowers automatically above 130 mph, more a autobahn thing. The car can be set to L2 manually with the switch in all drive modes. It will make it more stable in corners but also a bit more bumpy on bad roads. It does a good job but it is a heavy SUV and it will never corner like an M3. |
