Acoustic glass fit 45e?
Does anyone know if the 2019 G05 acoustic glass will fit the 2021 G05 45e? Seems like it should? Anyone try?
Seems like a lot of options not on 2021 models can get by using 2020 parts? |

I don't know about the windshield by itself, but in the USA with a laminated one, that tends to be quieter than those maybe used elsewhere (just tempered). But yes, the side windows are available, or were, in the USA as acoustic sound deadening until this MY. I would have thought they'd be thicker, and thus require different gaskets and maybe door panel, but that may not be the case. IF so, then it's just the labor to swap them, and obviously, the cost of the glass itself.

^^ Subscribing. Interested to know the process of changing the windows and result. Part numbers below (please verify to be sure).
I believe in Canada we only get acoustic laminate windshield. There are no other options available for us.

I’ve been told the front windshield is already acoustic glass and that it’s just the side windows front and back that you get acoustic. Just got the car today actually going to order the glass. Will let you know when arrives and if i can tell a difference.

In the USA, BMWUSA determines what parts a dealer can order. But, since that option has been available here, any dealer should be able to order the glass. Now, whether it's in stock anywhere and you can get it in a timely manner, that may be the bigger question!

Yes, any BMW dealership can order the parts or order on line to save some money. You can also buy non-BMW acoustic glass but the cost was very close after a nice discount from the Parts dept. so I went with BMW. Received my parts in two days.

You can also order parts for foreign-spec'ed BMWs - all you need is a foreign VIN and a cooperating dealer. Obviously, those parts may take longer to arrive.

Absolutely interested to know cost/results as well. One of my worries is gaining a rattle or two after having to disassemble and reassemble the door. I'm not seeing tinted rear acoustic windows available on the parts website, so would be curious to know how they arrive, as well!
